Cuers are everywhere. We are raising families, building careers, learning, teaching, creating, and living our lives.
We do not need to spend our time online proving that we exist. But seeing one another—and helping others see the diversity within cueing—can remind people that this community is still growing, connecting, and moving forward.
We are inviting cuers of all ages and backgrounds to send us a very short video. Five to ten seconds is enough.
What should I say?
Choose whatever feels natural to you

“Hi, I cue.”

“I grew up with Cued Speech.”

“I’m learning to cue.”

“Our family cues.”

“Hello from [city, state, or country].”

Or simply say, “Hello!”
Receptive cuers and signers are part of this, too
You do not need to cue expressively or say, “I cue.” You can speak or sign your message.
Many people grew up receiving Cued Speech, understand cueing receptively, feel more comfortable watching than cueing, or are still developing their expressive skills.
Your connection to cueing matters. Simply say hello or choose a line that reflects your own experience.
Keep it simple

Use your phone.

Keep your video between five and ten seconds.

Record somewhere with enough light for us to see your face and hands.

No special equipment, editing, or polished presentation is needed.

Imperfect cueing is ok.

Record far enough so we can see your cues and/or signs without being cut off.
Why are we doing this?
COVID changed how many communities stayed connected. Social media algorithms have also shifted, making it harder for community-created information to reach people—even people who want to see it.
At the same time, we are all navigating an overwhelming amount of content competing for our attention.
Behind the scenes, we are working with partners on several efforts to create new resources, strengthen connections, preserve our stories, and help more people discover the diversity within cueing.
Why does one short video matter?
Online platforms use signals such as views, watch time, shares, comments, and participation to decide which messages reach more people.
When more cuers contribute a short video—and when more people watch and share the finished project—it sends a stronger signal that this story matters.
One hello becomes many
Your video does not have to explain Cued Speech or tell your entire story.
It only needs to help us say: "We’re here. We’re connected. And there is more than one way to be part of the cuemmunity."

Many cuers and families are no longer connected through social media or traditional email lists. A personal invitation may reach someone who would never see one of our posts.
